Transport Service

Modbury Caring provides and manages a car service that offers transport for people, enabling them to attend health-related appointments (doctor, dentist, optician, hospital, etc.).  If you have no car, are unable to drive or have problems getting to your appointment, consider using our Car Service.

The staff at the Modbury Health Centre will be happy to make the necessary arrangements.

Our drivers are all volunteers, who use their own cars and receive expenses for their fuel etc. Each has been DBS checked to ensure they have nothing in their past that might indicate their unsuitability for this role.  We also provide a Prescription Delivery Service for those unable to collect their repeat prescriptions.

The service is free, but we invite users to make a contribution towards costs.  Suggested donations are:

£3 – £6 to the Health Centre and South Hams Hospital

£22 for longer journeys to Derriford or Torbay Hospitals

To book transport, please telephone
The Modbury Health Centre on 01548 830666

Volunteering

We are always on the lookout for people to join our volunteer team, if you have some spare time and can help by becoming a befriender or by using your car to drive others to their medical appointments (we offer a mileage allowance to cover your costs), please contact us using our volunteer contact form.
