Need a lift to a medical appointment? Need a friend for support and companionship?
Modbury Caring is a registered charity (charity registration number 1070237) which was formed in 1998 and is run by a voluntary management committee. Our aims are to provide befriending and transport services, benefitting people in need who live in the area covered by Modbury Health Centre. Our funding comes from members’ subscriptions and from donations; small grants from many parish councils and fund-raising events, including the “100 Club”, organising and taking part in fairs and fetes, street collections – and anything else we can think of!
Befriending
A befriending service, providing regular visits and companionship to those who are isolated and/or living alone.
Our volunteers are different ages and come from all walks of life. They have been through a thorough application process and cleared regulatory security checks. We aim to match you with someone who will provide real support and company.
Transport Service
For patients who have no other means of getting to and from the Health Centre, local hospitals and other medical appointments such as dentists or opticians, Modbury Caring’s team of DBS checked drivers can assist with your transport needs.
Fundraising
Our services are free however we need to cover our costs. Can you help us?
